Lactic Acid is an ALPHA HYDROXY ACID and naturally occurring organic carboxylic acid, meaning there is less potential for allergic reaction with this type of superficial peel. Lactic Acid is also said to be less harsh and more moisturizing than Glycolic Acid skin peels, so Lactic Acid may be a beneficial alternative for those with sensitive skin or who cannot handle the glycolic or TCA peels. 5 Stars The best yet
As a 53 yr old esthitician I have some experience with peels, on myself and on my clients. I started using a 30% glycolic on a regular with no results. Then I went to my physician who applied 70% glycolic on 3 different ocassions, even leaving it on 5 minutes more than recommended, a slight improvement in texture. Neither of these peels caused any peeling or frost. I decided to purchase this peel to see if I could get moderate. I have used it 2 times so far and it does seem to be improving the texture of my skin. My skin is definitely softer as well. I still haven’t had even a smidgen of peeling or frost so I’m not sure if I’m getting the best results I can. It hasn’t done anything for even minor wrinkles. I will continue to use it of course in the hopes that I will some day get wonderful results. I would recommend it though but not to first time users.
5 Stars extremely irritating, but works
It is advisable to start with a lower strength peel…this is my first time doing this and i started with this 85% liquid. The pain and burning sensation were both unbeareable but cools down as soon as you wash your face. I applied it at night and all I could see was redness but when i woke up the next morning my skin was peeling completely…it went on for about 7 days and after that recovery period i could see a MAJOR difference all over my acne scars, my skin looks a lot lighter,brown spots dimished and feels tighter!
If i obtained these results with a single application, i can’t wait to see what will happen with 2 or 3 more!
CONS: You’ll have to wait until your face finishes the peeling process (it took 7 days for me)in order to see results.
